Microneedling, also referred to as collagen-induced therapy, is the process of making micro-wounds in the top layer of the skin with small needles. Laser Skin & Wellness utilizes the Vivace RF Microneedling system which uses Radiofrequency energy to heat the underlying layers of the skin, tightening skin as well as the stimulating collagen and elastin. The Vivace Microneedling System uses adjustable technology so the practitioner can cater the treatment to each patients’ individual needs. It also utilizes dual LED lights. The red light further stimulates collagen and the blue light helps destroy acne-causing bacteria. This state-of-the-art technology allows patients to have a more comfortable treatment with effective results.
The treatment will start with a numbing solution being applied to the skin. Then your Laser Skin & Wellness specialist will set the Vivace System to the specific settings, such as needle depth, for your custom treatment. During the Vivace treatment, your provider will add RF energy into the deeper layers of the skin for skin tightening, create micro-channels in the epidermis of the skin, and use LED lights to promote collagen and destroy any acne bacteria. Since the Vivace system is motor controlled, it is very accurate and effective. The micro-channels created go straight into the skin rather than at an angle like traditional Microneedling which can lead to less bleeding and quicker recovery.

The Vivace RF Microneedling treatment can treat almost anywhere that shows visible signs of aging. The main areas for treatment from Vivace are the face, neck, and hands. This helps to create a youthful appearance to those with aging, sagging skin.
The treatment is virtually-painless for patients. To minimize pain and discomfort, a numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area before the procedure. Once the face is numb, the skin will be cleansed and then treatment can start. Many patients say it feels like a light pressure is being added to the skin. There may be some pinpoint bleeding from the needles, but nothing major.
“Malinda is amazing! She takes the time to hear you out and never once did I feel rushed when she was explaining treatments and answering my questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone!” — Megan
The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes to complete. Applying the numbing cream takes an additional 20 to 30 minutes. The number of treatments needed will vary due to the patient’s specific desires. Most patients get three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. The provider will set the expectation at the time of consultation.
The recovery time for Vivace treatment is very minimal. Many patients feel comfortable going out that same day with no indication of any treatment being done. After any Microneedling treatment it is important to avoid direct sunlight for ten days or so. Your face may be red, similar to that of a sunburn. Moisturizers and topical cream can be applied to help soothe the skin faster. This should be cleared by a specialist.
