Tighten Loose, Lax Skin with Titan Skin Tightening

The Titan™ laser treatment utilizes infrared energy technology and is a non-surgical alternative that is aimed at turning back the clock by tightening loose and aging skin. Skin tightening is not meant to replace surgical procedures such as face, eyelid, and neck lifts, but it is a good option for people who don’t want surgery and understand that the results are noticeable but modest. It is best for those who have some skin laxity but do not have a lot of extra skin or especially droopy areas around their face.

How Does Titan™ Work?

The Titan laser treatment uses a safe infrared light to gently heat the skin below the surface, which causes immediate contraction of collagen. After the procedure, the growth of new collagen tightens skin naturally. The increased collagen production results in a more youthful appearance and firmer skin with fewer lines or folds.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Patients have been successfully treated on various areas of the body where skin tightening is desired. The most popular areas to treat are the face, jowls, and neck as well as under the chin. How Many Titan™ Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments varies according to the precise condition and responsiveness of your skin, but we generally recommend three treatments over a three-month period to see the best results. At the time of your consultation, your provider will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.

How Long Does Each Treatment Take?

The time of each treatment will vary according to whether you are treating the full face, just the neck, or both. An approximate treatment time that can be expected is 60 minutes. Your treatment time may take more or less depending on how much skin is being addressed during your session.

What Happens After Titan™ Treatment?

After the treatment, patients report some redness as well as mild swelling in the treated area. This will disappear very quickly, and no additional steps are needed. If your skin feels especially warm, you may apply chilled gel or ice as needed. Sunscreen and makeup can be immediately applied after treatment.

When Will I See Results and How Long Will They Last?

Some patients see tighter skin immediately. However, for many patients, the results are gradual over a two to three-month period as new collagen is formed and skin tightening occurs. Our patients still enjoy the benefits of Titan™ after one to two years, but because the skin continues to age, we recommend a yearly maintenance treatment.

What Does Treatment Feel Like?

Each Titan™ laser pulse begins with cooling, then a brief heating sensation, and ends with cooling again. Most patients have no problem tolerating the procedure, but some may take a mild pain reliever before the treatment if they have an especially low tolerance.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Any adult who wants to have younger, tighter-looking skin and who understands that this isn’t a replacement for surgery is a good candidate. You should not have treatment if you are pregnant or have been on Accutane within the past 3 months.
