Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser treatment, which is also referred to as photorejuvenation, helps treat sun damage and reduce pore size. Patients may also notice that the skins overall surface looks more luminous. LimeLight is Cutera’s trademarked IPL device, and it’s the only programmable treatment on the market. This device allows us to more accurately customize your IPL photorejuvenation treatment to your skin type.
LimeLight IPL selectively treats the red or brown pigmented areas of the skin. This is the same exact method that produces the therapeutic effect.
IPL Photorejuvenation treats most areas with sunspots and sun damage, redness or freckles. The most popular areas for treatment are the face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms and hands because they have suffered from the most sun exposure.
When the hand piece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you will feel a brief, stinging, heated sensation.
If you have light or medium colored skin, you may be a good candidate for photorejuvenation using the LimeLight IPL device. If you have darker skin tones, this may not be the best option for you. We can let you know if you’re a candidate at the time of your consultation.
“Many thanks to the staff of laser skin and wellness. Shannon at the front desk was absolutely wonderful to make certain each one of my benefits were applied towards my bill. Shelley was equally wonderful and offered a very compassionate and professional opinion regarding improvements that I may want to consider for my skin. Shelley performed each procedure flawlessly and took great pride in her work. Thank you to the fine employees at Laser Skin and Wellness. I will see you soon!" - Debra W.Read More »
Immediately following the IPL photorejuvenation treatment, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. During the next one to three weeks, spots that were dark will start to fade and flake off. Expect some swelling for about a day or two if you have diffuse redness on the veins, but it should subside in a few days.
Typically, one to three IPL photorejuvenation treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very dark spots or excessive sun damage.
Most patients see significant improvement within two to three weeks of treatment. However, your final result may not be apparent for several months. Call us in Lake Worth or Palm Beach Gardens at (561) 641-9490 to schedule your IPL photorejuvenation treatment
