What is Fractional Laser Treatment?
Fractional laser resurfacing is a non-invasive, non-ablative laser treatment that stimulates natural collagen to improve fine lines and wrinkles, scaring, acne, and stretch marks while improving overall skin tone and texture. This process is normally called laser resurfacing. It can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, increasing skin firmness and effectively treating skin laxity. It is also an effective option for acne scars, sun damaged skin, uneven skin tone, and more.

How Does Fractional Laser Treatment Work?
During fractional laser treatment, hundreds of laser energy beams create deep micro-columns of thermal tissue damage, causing a controlled wound. Trauma to the skin is what creates natural new collagen. Fractionated lasers leave small gaps of untreated skin throughout the treated area (as the name suggests, they treat only a fraction of the skin) in order to increase collagen production. When injured tissue is surrounded with healthy tissue, it heals faster with minimal downtime or complications. The result of multiple treatments is healthy new skin.
Are There Any Restrictions on My Activity After Laser Treatments?
After treatment, the skin looks and feels sunburned, experiencing redness and puffiness for about 48 hours. You will need to wear protective clothing and sunscreen, and limit sun exposure for a few days afterward. There may be minor peeling after treatment as the top layer of skin flakes off and reveals healthy skin underneath.

Patient Testimonial
“What a great place. They are very knowledgeable and after only coming in once knew me by my first name. I got laser hair removal from Nicki who made sure my experience was as painless as possible. They have lots of supplements that their nutritionist can suggest for patients. They do tattoo removal, botox, fillers, skin tightening. This place really has it all, even Vit B Injections!! It’s nice to find a place that does everything I need.” — Kali B.
How Many Laser Treatments Are Recommended?
Treatments are more effective if done in a series of sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Natural collagen growth takes several weeks and months after treatment. Some patients may see the desired results after only one or two treatments.
Can It Be Part of a Combination Therapy?
Yes, patients may choose to have a fractional treatment followed by separate visits for Genesis, Titan, chemical peels, or injectables. We will customize an appropriate treatment plan for you.

How Does Fractional Laser Compare to Other Treatments?
A fractional laser treatment combines the effectiveness of the traditional CO2 (carbon dioxide) ablative fractional laser with the downtime of non-ablative lasers such as IPL, delivering powerful results without the traditionally harsh side effects. This allows much faster healing time than that of a more aggressive CO2 laser. Fractional lasers are not associated with the increased risk of loss of pigment or scarring that can occur with CO2 laser treatment.
Who is a Good Candidate for Fractional Laser Treatment?
Patients with wrinkles and mild to moderate sun damage are good candidates, as well as most skin tones. Darker skin may require a different approach to treatment. It is also safe for most skin types, but our experienced laser technicians will determine whether laser skin resurfacing is best for your goals.
