There are many ways to slow down the aging process in our skin- consistent use of sun protection, topical anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C, growth factors like Skin Medica’s™ TNS, dermal fillers such as Juvederm™ or Scupltra™, and BOTOX®. And the list goes on and on! But if you don’t take care of the inside, then all the products and treatments we provide at Laser Skin Solutions, cannot keep your skin from aging prematurely.

Most people don’t think of eating well as a means of preserving the skin. But if we are piling anti-oxidants ON the skin, why not put them IN the body as well, giving the cells of the skin something to work with?

When preparing your meals, think of a rainbow. Create a colorful meal of red, yellow green, even blue! If you do this, you will be eating many different kinds of vegetables and fruit, whole grains, nuts and legumes.  With this kind of diet, you will be giving your body essential nutrients and vitamins, along with fiber to aid digestion. And don’t forget to drink, lots and lots of water!

Minimize your consumption of alcohol, eat less animal protein, and try to avoid processed foods as well.  As health guru and author, Michael Pollan said, “processed food is nothing more than plastic for the mouth to play with”!  A diet that is as unprocessed as possible, and more plant-based, will give you not only a healthier body, but brighter and more youthful skin!
