How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Laser tattoo removal works by directing quick, short laser pulses to the targeted ink. This shatters the ink into small particles which are then naturally removed from the body. Treatment usually takes about 20 minutes to complete, and multiple treatments are required 6-8 weeks apart to fully remove a tattoo.

What to Expect After Treatment

After your laser tattoo removal treatment, the treatment area will be red, and small blisters will appear after 48 hours. These should resolve within 1-2 weeks. Be sure to keep the area covered and out of the sun, and let any blisters resolve on their own. Be sure to follow your provider’s post-treatment instructions for best results.
