What is Fraxel™ Laser Treatment?
The Fraxel Laser Treatment is a revolutionary procedure to get rid of sun spots, improve acne scarring, eliminate uneven pigmentation, and reduce wrinkles and stretch marks with minimal downtime. The Fraxel laser creates thousands of microscopic thermal spots that form deep columns of treated skin tissue, which are separated by unaffected, healthy skin tissue. This innovative approach allows us to treat a small fraction of skin at a time so the skin heals much faster than if the entire area were treated at once.
The clinical endpoint with Fraxel Laser Treatment is cell turnover and peeling. After treatment, the patient’s skin tends to be pinkish-red for a few days. How long does the procedure take?
The procedure (including the application of topical anesthetic) typically takes between 2 and 2-1/2 hours. There’s no prolonged recuperation, no risk of general anesthesia, and treatment is well tolerated.
How many treatments will I need?
An effective treatment regime generally requires 5 to 6 treatment sessions, spaced approximately 2 – 4 weeks apart.
