Fewer skin conditions are more frustrating than acne! Almost all of us, at one time, or another, have experienced red, sometimes painful and swollen acne lesions that make us want to hide our faces. Usually acne is most common in the early adolescence and teen years, but acne can strike at almost any age, including 20’s, 30’s and 40’s and sometimes 50’s.
What is Acne?
Acne develops from blocked follicles. Sebum (oil produced by sebaceous glands), plus an overproduction of keratinized skin cells block the follicle and form a plug. The naturally occurring bacteria, P.acnes, can then multiply in the blocked follicle, causing inflammation and inflammatory lesions creating a pimple. Acne can also be caused by hormonal activity, including stress, in addition to the blocked follicles.
At Laser Skin Solutions, we use highly effective topical products that can only be purchased in a physician office combined with a series of ClearLight treatments that will control acne outbreaks. We also discuss exercise, diet and lifestyle modification strategies to address all of your skin care needs. We get results. Make your FREE consultation today.

What is ClearLight?
The ClearLight, high-intensity blue-violet light that activates special bacteria-fighting agents in your own body called porphyrins. This reaction produces peroxide, and destroys the P.acnes bacteria. To keep the skin clear, topical treatment products including Benzoyl peroxide, retinol and powerful anti-aging ingredients, can be used to maintain clear skin.
What is a ClearLight Treatment Like?
If possible, you should arrive with clean skin. You will lie comfortably under the ClearLight for a period of 20 minutes with protective goggles over your eyes. There is NO PAIN, no peeling, no irritation, no restriction from sun exposure and no one will even notice you have had a treatment. Makeup can be reapplied directly following your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
At Laser Skin Solutions, our package includes 2 ClearLight treatments per week for 4 weeks and topical skin care products to get your acne under control. At your last ClearLight treatment in the series, your progress will be evaluated and recommendations made.
What should I do between ClearLight Treatments?
You should avoid touching or picking your blemishes at all times. You will be advised of correct products and proper home care during and after your treatment.
